"Do dhícheall beag scallta" can be translated as "Your measly best try.", or "Your poor little attempts." It is an expression of derision.

Literally, this is the break-down:
Do - your
dícheall - best attempt
beag - small
scallta - unfledged, featherless (metaphorically - ill suited)

The word for chick or fledgling is "scalltán", because they don't have their big boy feathers yet.

So.. it's a pun, and everyone laughs now..
