"The first ever Polish school in the South East will begin classes in St. Paul’s Community College this week.
“'We are happy to be able to facilitate this venture and wish the teachers and pupils every success,' stated Anthony Condron, Principal, St. Paul’s Community College.
"The school, which will cater for more then 100 students, will operate every Saturday from 8am - 5pm.
"The students, who are aged from 7 - 15 years will be divided into individual classes and receive three hours tuition in Polish and the history of their native country.
"The school will be fully funded by the Polish government and aims to provide a Polish curriculum for the children of Polish immigrants living within a 40-mile radius of Waterford.
"It is anticipated that many of children will return to their native country in the future, which is the reasoning behind the school."
